LATEST NEWS AND BRAGS - UPDATED JANUARY 14, 2012

1. •1/05/12 - Tasha aka Sunkissed Pocketful of Sunshine kicked off the year by going RWB to a 5-pt major under esteemed breeder judge, Alicia Mohr-Hanna, at the Palm Springs shows in California!  Tasha, at only 11 months old, was in the ribbons all 4 days in both sweeps and in the regular classes. She is owned and adored by Tami Woodford in AZ.  SO proud of our girl!  Way to go Tasha!
   

2. •12/9/11 - Halley aka Sunkissed A Force 2B Reckoned With at Cedar Ridge (Shane x Sunny) earns a 3-pt major in Dallas, TX at her very first show at only 10 months old!!  She was beautifully presented by her owner, Judy Campbell. SO PROUD of them!!!
   

3. •11/19/11 - Lacey (Dallas x Delilah) earns a 3-pt major in Columbus, Ohio from the 12-18 class!  She had a great show weekend.  Winning her class each day and going RWB on 11/19/11.  So proud of this beautiful, young girl!
   

4. •10/15/11 - Our girl, Madison (Adili’s in the Spirit of Madison), earned a 3-pt major in Urbana, Ohio!  This gives Madison 12 points to date with one major to go to earn her championship. 
   

5. •9/11/11 thru 9/15/11 - We had an amazing time at the 2011 RRCUS national specialty!  And we came home with some pretty ribbons to boot.  Our beautiful 7-month old boy, Cino (Sunkissed Dolce Bacino) earned a 4th place ribbon in the 6-9 puppy dog sweepstakes class under respected breeder judge, Susan Ralston!  Cino also made the  cut in the regular puppy classes under all-breed judge, Kent Delaney.  And then our amazing puppy girl, Tasha (Sunkissed Pocket Full of Sunshine) earned a 2nd place ribbon in the extremely competitive and large 6-9 puppy bitch class under Kent Delaney!  Their sister, Maya (Sunkissed Soul Sister By Jordan) made the final cut of 6 puppy bitches in both the 6-9 puppy sweepstakes class and the regular class.  So proud of our puppies!!  Way to go Cino and Tasha!!  Their older brother, Dallas (Ch Sunkissed Soul Desire By Jordan), also showed his tail off in the best of breed ring and made the cut under Kent Delaney.  Thanks to Diane Engelking for showing both Dallas and Tasha!
   

6. •8/26/11 - ARI IS A NEW CHAMPION AT 14 MONTHS OLD!  So proud to report that Ari (a Dallas x Delilah son) went WD/BOW in Chagrin Falls, Ohio today to earn his championship.  Yay Ari!!!
   

7. •8/14/11 - A great dog show day in Ohio!  Our Dallas son, Ari, went WD/BOW bringing him to 14 points at 14 months old.  And our Sunny son, Cino (Sunkissed Dolce Bacino), went Reserve Winners Dog to Ari at his very first show!  Cino is 6 months, 5 days old.  Big congrats to the Madonia and Figliano families!
   

8. •8/7/11 - Luna goes WB/BOW for a 3rd major in MI, bringing her to 14 points!  She also went BOS over specials and Best Bred-By Exhibitor!  Big congrats to Diane and Team Luna!  One point to go!
   

9. •8/5/11 - Luna (Dallas x Delilah) goes WB again for 2 points.  She now has 11 points with both her majors.  So proud of her!
   

10. •8/4/11 - Dallas’ daughter, Luna, goes WB for another 2 points in Marshall, MI with breeder, owner, handler, Diane Engelking while her littermate, Ari, goes RWD to the major in Canfield, Ohio.  Way to go Dallas babies!!
    

11. •7/30/11 and 7/31/11 - Dallas’ daughter, Luna, goes BEST IN SWEEPSTAKES in Waukesha, WI under respected breeder judges, Chris Demery and Roseann Sexton.  She then goes on to earn RWB to 4-pt majors both days!  Congrats to her breeders!!
    

12. •7/15/11 - Dallas’ son, Ari earns a 4-pt major in Madison, Ohio!  He is only 13 months old and has both his majors with 13 total points.
    

13. •6/25/11 - Dallas’ daughter, Luna, goes WB from the bred-by class to earn her second major win in Valparaiso, IN.  Way to go breeder/owner/handler, Diane Engelking and Luna!!
    

14. •6/25/11 - Dallas’ daughter, Lacey (Hunters Ridge Sunkissed Love N Lace) had her show debut this weekend in Waynesburg PA! She rocked the ring like her brother, Ari!  Her first time out and she went WB on Saturday and RWB on two days.  So proud of her!
    

15. •6/19/11 - Ari (Sunkissed Aristotle by Hunters Ridge) went WD/BOW for 2 more points in Troy, Ohio.  Ari is a Dallas x Delilah son.  He has shown 3 weekends.  9 points to date including a 4-pt major!
    

16. •6/17/11 - Dallas’ daughter, Luna, went WB/BOS today in Grayslake, IL.  Beautifully handled by her breeder, D. Engelking.
    

17. •5/30/11 - Dallas’ daughter, Luna (Hunters Ridge Once in a Wheaten Moon) went WB/BOW today in Kalamazoo, MI for a 3-point major!!  This was Luna’s show debut at 11 months old.  She won the bred-by class all 4 days with breeder/owner/handler, Diane Engelking and went RWB to a major two days in a row before taking the points today.  Way to go lovely Luna!!
    

18. •5/14/11 and 5/15/11 - Sunkissed Aristotle By Hunters Ridge (Ari) goes WD on Saturday and WD/BOW on Sunday for a total of 3 more points.  He is halfway to his championship with one major in only 2 show weekends.  Way to go Ari Safari!
    

19. •3/3/11 - We have been notified by RRCUS (The Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States) that Sunkissed Ridgebacks is the #1 BREEDER OF THE YEAR for 2010 and our beautiful Sunny is the #1 BROOD BITCH OF THE YEAR for 2010 with only one litter.
    

20. •2/8/11 - Sunny whelped her second litter producing 9 beautiful pups.  6 girls, 3 boys.  All ridged and healthy.
    

21. •12/16/10 thru 12/18/10 - Dallas’ son, Ari (Sunkissed Aristotle By Hunters Ridge) had a phenomenal show debut!  On Thursday, 12/16, Ari earned a Puppy Hound Group 2 at 6 months and 1 day old.  On Friday, 12/17, Ari earned a 4-pt major at 6 months and 2 days old!  And on Saturday, 12/18, our handsome youngster went RWD to a 5-pt major.  So proud of this confident, joyful, puppy.
    

22. •11/26/10 - The sire for our Winter 2011 Litter is Ch Rokishoals Undeniable at Hunters Ridge, JC (Shane).  See our “Sunkissed Litters” page and “Sunny Blog” for more information.
    

23. •11/20/10 - Our lovely girl, Madison (Adili’s in the Spirit of Madison), is coming into her own.  She went RWB to a 5-pt major in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday.  Very excited to show her again.
    

24. •11/7/10 - Pending AKC confirmation, Sunny earns her ROM with her fifth champion from her first litter!!  So proud of our beauty.
    

25. •11/4/10 thru 11/7/10 - Elsa earns 3 more points from the bred-by class at the Old Fort Cluster in Fort Wayne, IN to earn her championship at 22 months old.  She is Sunny’s 5th champion and is now CH SUNKISSED PROMISE OF HOPE FOR JADA.
    

26. •10/17/10 - Dallas goes BEST OF BREED in Urbana, Ohio to a 5-pt major and then goes on to earn a GROUP 4 in the hound group!
    

27. •10/2/10 - Sully is a new champion!!  WOO HOO!  Owner/handler, Judy Campbell, finished her handsome boy at 20 months old in Hot Springs, AR.  So proud to introduce, CHAMPION SUNKISSED PERFECT LANDING AT CEDAR RIDGE.  This is the 4th champion to emerge from the Sunkissed Inaugural Litter.  Way to go Sully!
    

28. •9/26/10 - Elsa goes WB/BOW in Aurora, CO with her newbie owner/handler on the other end of the lead.  So proud of Nancy and Elsa!!  Elsa now has 12 points including both her majors.
    

29. •9/20/20 thru 9/24/10 - RRCUS NATIONAL SPECIALTY NEWS!  Four of Sunny’s six beautiful show pups made it to Ventura, CA for our national specialty and made us very proud.  They are just 20 months old.  DALLAS placed 3rd in the 18-22 month Junior Sweeps class under breeder judge, Doreen Kent and his brother, Sully, made the final cut of just 5 dogs in the same class of 20+ dogs.  SULLY also made the final cut in Open Dogs under breeder judge, Sandra Fikes.  JESSE was shown in the highly competitive bred-by exhibitor class with an entry of 44 and made it to the final cut of about 6 bitches under Sandra Fikes.  So close!  And our beautiful BELLA showed her tail off despite suffering a severe gash to her paw just the day before the specialty (receiving lots of praise from our peers).  We had a wonderful and thrilling time in CA!
    

30. •9/10/10 and 9/11/10 - Elsa (Sunkissed Promise of Hope for Jada) goes WB from bred-by both days in Greeley, CO for two more points.  Sitting at 11 points with both majors.  Congrats to Elsa!
    

31. •8/27/10 - Madison goes WB/BOS (over 2 bitch specials) in Chagrin Falls, Ohio giving her a total of 9 points.  Way to go Madison!
    

32. •8/15/10 - Sully (Sunkissed Perfect Landing in Cedar Ridge) went WD/BOW/BOB in AR today for another point, giving him 14 points with both majors.  One point to go.  Way to go Judy and Sully!!
    

33. •8/14/10 - Bella earned a 3rd major today at 19 months old to finish her championship!  So proud to present CHAMPION Sunkissed Ciao Bella owned by Nicole Davis, handled by Diane Engelking.
    

34. •8/14/10 - Our Madison (Adili’s in the Spirit of Madison RE CGC JC) went WB/BOW for 2 points at a hound specialty in Ohio!!
    

35. •8/8/10 - Very excited to announce our new CHAMPION SUNKISSED QUEEN OF THE CATWALK (Kitt) who earned a 5-pt major from the bred-by class in Canfield, Ohio today to finish her!  So proud of our beautiful and sweet girl.
    

36. •8/7/10 and 8/8/10 - Bella earns two more wins in IL with Diane Engelking!  This gives her 12 points in 4 weekends.  Wow!
    

37. •8/2/10 - Another major for Bella in WI today!  WOO HOO!
    

38. •8/1/10 - Beautiful Bella is on a roll!  She earned a 4-point major today in WI at a big supported entry!  So proud of our “Bella the Ball” (Sunkissed Ciao Bella).  Thanks to Diane Engelking and Nicole Davis (her owner) for giving her the opportunity to shine!
    

39. •7/25/10 - Bella earns another point by going WB in Westin, WI!
    

40. •7/24/10 - Dallas goes BOB in Medina, Ohio.  He had fun in the group ring.  He’s only 18 months, so we’re just playing around.
    

41. •7/18/10 - Bella (Sunkissed Ciao Bella) went WB/BOW for her first point in Illinois!  The two days before this she went RWB.  Bella is just now starting to show and we couldn’t be prouder of her.  To top it off, Madison (Adili’s in the Spirit of Madison) went WB/BOW and BOS (over a special) on the same day!  A great weekend for our girls.  Way to go Bella, Kitt, and Madison!
    

42. •7/17/10 - Kitt (Sunkissed Queen of the Catwalk) went WB in Madison, Ohio for her 12th point and is now officially singled out, needing one major to finish.  She’s just 18 months old.
    

43. •7/16/10 - Our girl, Madison (Adili’s in the Spirit of Madison) went WB in Madison, Ohio for another point.  I co-own Madison with my parents and with Tammy Lynch.  She is the sweetest soul.
    

44. •6/17/10 - Elsa (Sunkissed Promise of Hope for Jada) earns a 4-pt major at 17 months old from the bred-by class in Blackfoot, Idaho!  This is her second 4-point major.  Way to go sweet Elsa!!
    

45. •6/14/10 - Dallas sired a beautiful and healthy litter with 6 girls and 3 boys.  Two show ridged boys and four show ridged girls.
    

46. •6/1/10 - Jesse is just getting warmed up as she goes WB/BOW and BOS over a top ranked bitch special in Coeur d’Alene, ID!  She was handled by her owner, Russ Tippett.  They make a great team.
    

47. •5/29/10 - Jesse goes WB in Spokane, WA for another point!
    

48. •5/16/10 - Kitt does it again!  WB for 2 more points in Tallmadge, Ohio.  She now has 11 points and we will be looking for that second major soon.  Kitt is just 16 months old.  Very proud of her.
    

49. •5/15/10 - Kitt goes WB for 2 points in Tallmadge, Ohio giving her a total of 9 points to date with one major.  Way to go Kitt Kat!
    

50. •4/24/10 - Jesse (Sunkissed Makena’s Just For Fun) went WB and BOS over a top ranked special in Lewiston, Idaho for her first point with owner/hander, Russ Tippett.  So very proud of them.
    

51. •4/9/10 - Madison (Adili’s In The Spirit of Madison JC CGC RE) earned her RALLY EXCELLENT title today.  Huge congrats to her handler and spoiler, Colman.  What a great team!
    

52. •4/7/10 - OFA prelim report arrived in the mail today for Dallas.  Preliminary hip conformation is EXCELLENT.  And elbows normal.
    

53. •3/21/10 - Dallas goes BEST OF BREED again today in Louisville!!  It was his first time in the ring as a “special.”
    

54. •3/21/10 - Mikey earned his TDI certification title today!
    

55. •3/21/10 - Madison earned her first and second leg this weekend towards her Rally Advanced title!  One more to go.
    

56. •3/20/10 - Our boy, Dallas, earned his conformation championship in Louisville, KY by going best of breed over several male specials for a 5-point major!  He’s only 14 months old.  We’re so proud of him.
    

57. •3/14/10 - Madison earned her Rally Advanced title today!  We’re very proud of our beautiful, smart, versatile girl.  Way to go Colman and Miss Madison!
    

58. •2/15/10 - Elsa earned a 4-point major today by going WB at the Colorado KC show in Denver!  She was shown by her owner, Nancy, who is brand new to the sport and who has worked very hard to learn how to show her beautiful girl.  So proud of Nancy and Elsa!
    

59. •2/12/10 - Dallas goes WD and best bred-by.  He then went on to earn a GROUP 2 in a competitive bred-by hound group.  Today’s win gives Dallas 10 points to date (including one major).
    

60. •2/11/10 - Kitt goes WB/BOW at the Central Indiana KC show in Indianapolis, IN giving her a total of 7 points to date w/one major.
    

61. •1/30/10 - Madison earned her first leg towards her Rally Advanced title today at the Erie KC show in Erie, PA.  Such a smart girl!
    

62. •1/24/10 - Kitt is on a roll!  She went WB for a 3-point major at the Oakland County KC show in Novi, MI.  The day before she went RWB to the major.  Very proud of our sweet and loving girl.
    

63. •1/16/10 - Kitt goes BEST IN SWEEPSTAKES and WINNERS BITCH at the Kennel Club of Buffalo show in Hamburg, NY.  Her littermate, Dallas, went reserve winners dog at the same show.
    

64. •1/10/10 - Kitt goes WB/BOW at the Rubber City KC show in Tallmadge, Ohio on her FIRST BIRTHDAY!  The day before her brother, Dallas, went Reserve Winners Dog to a 4-point major.
    

65. •12/12/09 - Sully does it again!  He went WD/BOW at the Mississippi State KC show at a supported entry from the 9-12 month puppy class.  This give Sully a total of 13 points to date.
    

66. •12/11/09 - Sully goes WD/BOW for a 4-point major from the 9-12 month puppy class at the Brandon KC of Mississippi show!  He was beautifully handled by his owner, Judy Campbell.
    

67. •12/11/09 - Madison earned her RALLY NOVICE title at the Medina Kennel Club show in Cleveland!  Madison showed only three times in the Rally ring earning a leg towards her RN title each time.  She was trained and handled by co-owner, Colman Lalka.  Way to go! 
    

68. •12/05/09 - Sully goes WD/BOW at the Trinity Valley KC show in Dallas, TX from the 9-12 mos puppy class with owner/handler, Judy Campbell who resides in Arkansas.
    

69. •11/21/09 - Madison goes WB at the Agathon KC show in Tallmadge, Ohio for another point towards her conformation championship!
    

70. •11/07/09 - Dallas goes WD/BOW at the Southern Colorado KC show in Pueblo, Colorado at nearly 10 months old.  The night before he won the puppy hound group in a marathon puppy match.
    

71. •11/01/09 - Mikey earns a 4-point major towards his field championship.  Way to go Colman and Mikey!
    

72. •11/01/09 - Madison earns her JUNIOR COURSER title!
    

73. •10/31/09 and 11/01/09 - Sully and his talented owner/handler, Judy do it again!  Sully takes back to back best of breed wins from the 9-12 month puppy class at the Tri-State KC and Bartlesville KC shows in Joplin, MO.  So proud of them!
    

74. •9/05/09 - Elsa goes Reserve Winners Bitch from the 6-9 month puppy class at the Evergreen Colorado KC show with her novice owner/handler who is brand new to the sport.  Way to go Nancy and Elsa!  Keep up the good work!
